Reporter Kimberley Barber from The News Portsmouth visited the 10th Anniversary National Watersports Festival here on Hayling Island!
http://And what a perfect time for her to land! The start of the first master blaster race of the day saw hundreds of windsurfers poised ready to take on the challenge of the out and back course finishing with a sprint up the beach!
The weather was a perfect mix of breeze and sunshine which no doubt pleased the crowds who had gathered to cheer on the racers!
With two more master blasters scheduled for later today, in amongst stand up paddle boarding races, SUP pugil, SUP polo and of course the windsurfing/SUP/kayak taster sessions run by Portsmouth Watersports Centre, the National Watersports Festival has a lot to offer participants and spectators alike.
This evening will see floodlit freestyle by the pros – a show not to be missed especially with the bars open throughout and live band, The Focs entertaining the crowds late into the night.
Come on down and check it out! We are supporting The Rowans Hospice so donations on the door are very welcome!
