SUP Racing

To take part in any of the racing, you will need an NWF ticket (either Day or Full Experience).  For all racing, prior registration will be required – details below.

Bib numbers will be assigned to everyone who registers to race and these will be with you for the weekend.

NWF SUP Beginners Race – Saturday

Not taken part in a SUP Race before? Are you unsure if it is for you? Well, this will be a short 3k race specifically for those new to the sport and/or racing, to give it a go.  It is an excellent opportunity to use your newly found skills from the Friday and Saturday clinics.

Prizes will be available for the first 3 Men and Women finishers.

Registration is covered by your NWF Ticket and details will be checked upon arrival at the NWF Registration Desk.  If you are unsure, you will be able to still registration between 1500 and 1530 at the SUP Beach on the Sat.

General Rules:

  • Paddlers can race on boards up to ’14
  • Open age groups apply
  • All paddlers MUST wear leashes
  • Bib numbers MUST be attached as instructed
  • Any protests to be made within 15mins of the end of the race to the Race Director

Sprints – Saturday

To be confirmed.

NWF Distance Race – Saturday

This will be a 10k distance paddle.

For paddle boarders, you will be able to enter under one of the following categories:

  • 12’6 Race – split by gender and age groups, racing on 12’6 race boards
  • 14’ Race – split by gender and age groups, racing on 14’ race boards
  • N1SCO One Design – split by gender

If you are unsure about doing the full distance, you have the option to enter the Challenge Tour (5k) which is an open board category designed for those paddlers looking to push themselves, but without racing.

Registration is covered as part of the NWF Ticket and details will be checked upon arrival at the NWF Registration Desk.  Due to administration set up for timing devices, the cut off point for registration is TBC.

NWF Junior Racing – Sunday

For juniors (under 16), we will be holding 3 short races covering a distance, technical and sprint.  Further details will follow during 2019.

NWF Technical Race – Sunday

Taking your new founded skills from the buoy clinic and take part in a short technical race which will see you going around a course with a number of buoy turns!

Prizes will be available for the first 3 Men and Women.

Rules:

  • Paddlers can race on boards up to 14’
  • All paddlers MUST wear leashes

Registration is covered by your NWF Ticket and details will be checked upon arrival at the NWF Registration Desk.  If you are unsure, you will be able to still registration between 0900 and 0930 at the SUP Beach on the Sunday.
